Vripack’s 46-metre retro family explorer superyacht

The latest concept from Vripack, the 45.5-metre B52, harks back to the golden age of gentleman’s yachting, with her pleasingly rounded stern, snub bow, stabilising masts and yellow funnel. The B52 has been designed as a family explorer yacht, with a main deck master suite, two twin cabins for the owner’s children, and a small cabin in between for the children’s nanny. Immediately aft of the accommodation where you might expect a main salon, are the yacht’s two 7.5-metre tenders, which are launched by overhead cranes, with an extendable swim platform integrated into the classic stern.

There is a proper lounge and further guest accommodation on the bridge deck. Forward on the bridge deck is an ‘explorer’s lounge’ – an internal observation area with a bar and seating – and there’s a further area on the foredeck, which is shaded by a canopy. The main dining area is aft on this deck, with the whellhouse forward on the sundeck (where there is a hot-tub aft).

“To create maximum privacy for the owner and guests, we paid special attention to the traffic routing around this yacht, making it possible for the crew to be able to do their jobs properly while encountering the guests as little as possible,” says Vripack designer Bart Bouwhuis. The lower deck has been designed for use by the crew.
